Who Should Attend:


This is a workshop you will not want to miss!  It is designed for faculty, staff, administrators, and anyone involved in the development and/or teaching of web-based courses.

 

Workshop Overview:


Get hands-on experience with distance education equipment and see examples of prepared lessons. Learn practical application skills for developing distance education courses and programs using interactive video and the Internet. Participants will learn the basics of preparing instructional material for distance education.

About the Instructor: Kim Dooley, Ph.D.


Kim E. Dooley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Education at Texas A&M University. She completed her Ph.D. in 1995 in Educational Human Resource Development (Training and Development) with a specialization in distance learning. Dr. Dooley’s teaching and research specialization is diffusion of distance education technologies and evaluation of telecommunications as a teaching/learning tool.

 

She has conducted training programs for the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation in Agriculture (Costa Rica), the International Potato Center (Peru), Fort Sam Houston, the University of Arkansas, the University of Northern Arizona, Central Texas College, Tarleton University, and Stephen F. Austin University, as well as workshops at national conferences. She is a Wakonse Fellow and Wakonse Teaching Scholar with the Center for Teaching Excellence and a recent recipient of the Montague Teaching Scholar Award. Her 30 publications include a chapter in Distance Training, which received the Wedemeyer Award from the Association of Continuing Education.
