The Alliance for Higher Education developes cooperative activities while facilitating communication and information sharing between and among:

n Business and Industry
n Libraries and Museums
n Medical Centers
n Community Service Agencies

     In addition to distance education,  the Alliance offers a vast array of programs and services of benefit to all sectors of the community.

     Through Academic Programs and Services, the Alliance facilitates interinstitutional cooperation and provides support services including faculty and staff development opportunities, study abroad options, joint purchasing activities and electronic transcript sharing.      For the corporate sector, the Alliance improves workforce quality through a  education and training initiatives, including the convenience of distance education, classroom experiences and computer-based training alternatives. The Alliance also acts as a forum for dialog between business and higher education. See our Corporate Services section  for a full description of services.

     Throughout all programs and services, the Alliance publicly advocates the intrinsic value of higher education. Linking public school teachers to ongoing university-level education...delivering education and certification opportunities directly to health care professionals...advancing literacy projects via distance education technologies...these are powerful examples of partnership and collaboration.

     With a membership (see Membership section) that has more than doubled in the past five years, the value of partnerships is clearly evident. If your institution, corporation or organization is not listed among our members, perhaps it should be.
