Pioneering distance education and collaborative endeavors for more than 30 years, the Alliance links business and higher education while providing other valuable services to the community.  From its inception as one of the nation’s first distance education networks, the Alliance for Higher Education continues to be a major educational and economic resource.

Uniquely comprised of colleges, universities, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations including health care facilities, public libraries and K-12 school districts, the Alliance creates powerful partnerships.*  From resource sharing initiatives to faculty development, the Alliance provides many cooperative activities designed to serve higher education.  By linking higher education directly to the workplace via distance education, the Alliance serves business and industry with quality education and training needed to ensure a highly skilled workforce...and the Alliance continues to chart new territories for collaboration.

Just as the Alliance explored the horizons of distance education with 20th century technologies, it has created a new education and information network utilizing 21st century technologies.  The new Cecil and Ida Green Education and Information Network will cultivate our greatest resource --- human potential---ensuring that we compete successfully in a global economy where information is the most valuable currency.
