With today's information explosion, it is critical to compress the time it takes to convert information to knowledge.  Libraries are key to the process.  By sharing resources, member libraries can better serve today's ``knowledge needs."  Through the Green Education and Information Network, libraries can create and share virtual collections. 

     The Alliance supports both an Academic and a Corporate Council for Library Directors. The Academic Council serves member colleges and universities while the Corporate Council focuses its efforts on corporate and public libraries. Both provide a forum for identifying library needs, formulating policies and expanding collections through resource sharing initiatives.
