DISTANCE EDUCATION

Through Alliance Corporate Services, business, industry, health care facilities and not-for-profit organizations can meet their varied education and training needs conveniently, cost-effectively and with a variety of delivery options. Utilizing 21st century technologies, distance education is available via the Green Education and Information Network (formerly the TAGER Network).

Creating a virtual university at the workplace, employees may access graduate or undergraduate degrees. Associate, bachelor's completion and master's degrees in a variety of disciplines are available. Additionally, employees will find an increasing array of noncredit courses for professional and personal development including specialized certifications.

In an age of electronic information transfer, distance education opportunities available via the Alliance for Higher Education significantly increase the scope of corporate training departments and provide a substantial return on training and education dollars. Alliance distance education opportunities also provide companies with valuable employee recruitment and retention tools.

VIDEOTAPE AND COMPUTER-BASED COURSES

To serve the education and training needs of employees who travel or work changing shifts, many companies require videotaped courses. For those taking credit courses or working toward a degree via the Green Network, most classes are available on videotape. Videotaped classes can be requested for sessions that employees are unable to attend due to travel or work schedule conflicts. These videotapes can be requested through Alliance Corporate Services or special arrangements can be made for company videotaping.

Many noncredit courses are also available for lease or purchase after the broadcast date. Companies may lease videotape courses for specific needs or purchase titles to add to their corporate training library. Computer-based training courses are also available through Alliance Corporate Services to keep employees current in the latest software and network applications.
