The studio classrooms
offer an instructor-friendly environment fully supported by technical staff. The room has
classroom style seating for 35 students with ample room for presentations and demonstrations and can be configured for conference seating with space for as many as five panelists. Classes originating
in the facility can be transmitted throughout the Metroplex; interactivity is provided via two-way audio. In addition, the classroom has access to satellite uplink for transmission to other areas, and
our staff can videotape the class for later review or additional distribution.
Classroom equipment includes an instructor’s podium with a
computer. Installed software
includes Power Point and Perfect Office Suite. The computer has Internet access and ports to support an instructor’s laptop
computer graphics programming.
Other equipment in the classroom includes an Elmo overhead camera and technician-controlled remote cameras. The classroom can receive Ku
and C band satellite programming, and can integrate 35mm slides, computer graphics and video clips into an instructor’s presentation.
Alliance technical staff trains instructors
before they use the facility to ensure that they are comfortable with the equipment and the environment.
Basic classroom rental includes only the Elmo camera and podium
computer. “Studio usage” includes all classroom equipment (including reception of satellite programs), technical staff support, and a master videotape of the class. “Network usage” adds
transmission of live programming to the Green network for delivery in the Metroplex.
Full service classroom setup, additional instructor support, and satellite services are
available for an added fee.
