METROPLEX ALLIANCE FOR ENGINEERING EDUCATION (MAFEE)
The Metroplex Alliance for Engineering Education provides a structure for colleges, universities and corporations to work cooperatively to improve education related to the ever increasing number
of technology careers. Among its varied functions, MAFEE serves as a selection committee to assist the Alliance in determining the most relevant technical education to be delivered to area corporations. By convening
engineering deans of Alliance academic members, interfacing with K-12 educators and communicating with state agencies, MAFEE seeks to ensure that high technology companies have access to a well-educated work force both
now and in the future. METROPLEX TRAINING CONSORTIUM (MTC)
Being attuned to the needs of business and industry requires frequent and ongoing interaction with representatives from the corporate training community. To ensure that Corporate Services is keenly
aware of the challenges facing today's training professional, the Metroplex Training Consortium (MTC), created by the Alliance, meets bi-monthly to share information and provide guidance regarding the education and
training services needed by the corporate community. MTC members may participate in special interest groups such as alternative training delivery systems, basic skills, benchmarking,
evaluation and shared training. MTC members share common concerns, gather information, tour member company sites and network to enhance training functions in their companies.
Meeting Schedule: September 9, 1999 - Alcatel USA (Plano) November 11, 1999 - General Motors (Arlington)
