Provide Your Customers with Real Time Training at the Desktop with Streaming Video!

How can Alliance members benefit from streaming video?

Members can build and deliver courses that can be distributed to anyone at anytime at a reasonable cost. These can include built-in assessments, course materials, videos of real-time or recorded lectures or actual demonstrations of hands-on activities. Streaming video can also be used to promote classes or institutions and their services so that the viewer is engaged quickly and interest and response are generated.

What is streaming video?

Streaming video allows the viewer to see multimedia content (pictures, video, music and sound) on a computer rather than the traditional method of waiting for a clip to download in its entirety before playing. Streaming is a marvelous low-cost technology for "one-to-many" broadcasting.

How is it used?

A live presentation (class, conference, event, meeting) can be viewed and heard by a dispersed audience without the need for satellite or broadcast television. Because of the rapid advances in technology, the quality of streaming video has improved dramatically. Basic streaming functions allow for viewing of a prerecorded lecture, student response devices, e-mail communication during a lecture, repeat viewing, pay-per-view ordering or registration, and storage and searching capabilities.

  • Live webcasts for professors...courses can be easily transferred to the Internet and sent to multiple users. . .massive synchronous classrooms or personal one-on-one learning moments can be created.

  • Prerecorded streaming videoentire or abridged lectures, conferences, etc. can be stored and viewed at any time.

  • Other featuresalong with video clips, a streaming course can include interactive communication, PowerPoint slides, or transcripts of a lecture. Courses with e-mail components that enable students to e-mail professors who could answer questions "live" as the prerecorded lecture plays on the PC, make the use of streaming media more personal.
