Board of Trustees Welcomes Newcomers


The Alliance for Higher Education is pleased to announce new members of its Board of Trustees:

Marvin Anderson, DBA, President and CEO of Southwestern Adventist University, a liberal arts college in Keene, Texas and President and CEO of Southwestern Diversified Industries, Inc., a tax paying for profit corporation owned by Southwestern Adventist University. Dr. Anderson is serving on both the Alliance Board of Trustees and Council of Presidents.


Don Blue, Director of Operations for a dynamic new startup company called Yotta Networks, Inc., previously with Alcatel USA’s Corporate Research Center as the Laboratory Manager for designing, building, and managing Alcatel’s first North American Research Laboratory. During his tenure with Alcatel, Blue assisted in the design and implementation of the Alliance Internet2/GigaPop.


Michael Ferrari, Ph.D., Chancellor of Texas Christian University. Dr. Ferrari has previously served as the president of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and as provost and chief academic officer at Bowling Green State University and Wright State University in Ohio. He is also a published author and recipient of several honors and awards in education.


Bill Keffler, City Manager for the City of Richardson. Keffler has been with the City in several capacities, including Deputy City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Assistant to the City Manager, and as an Administrative Assistant. He is a graduate of Notre Dame and Texas Tech.


Dan S. Petty, President of the North Texas Commission. The Commission is a nonprofit consortium of businesses, cities, counties, chambers of commerce, economic development entities, and higher education institutions in the North Texas Region.


Niel Ransom, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer of Alcatel USA. In his role with Alcatel, Dr. Ransom oversees corporate research, technology strategy, and network product planning. Before joining Alcatel, he was the Senior Director of BellSouth’s Advanced Technology Systems Engineering Center.


Robert E. Witt, Ph.D., President, University of Texas at Arlington. Prior to his tenure at UT Arlington, Dr. Witt Was Dean of the College and Graduate School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and holds the Centennial Chair in Business Education Leadership.


Mike Zeeff, Vice President of Engineering Processes and Services for Alcatel USA. Zeef has held several positions at Alcatel, including management roles in research and development. He is currently responsible for electronic documentation, application and workstation support, CAD, lab services, cost reduction engineering, and technical libraries.
