In Pursuit of Research The Alliance for Higher Education will host a series of faculty meetings on individual campuses within the next several months to discuss academic research activities that may benefit from using Internet2. Dr. Alfred Riccomi, formerly with Texas Instruments and currently teaching at Southern Methodist University, will facilitate these meetings in cooperation with the Alliance. Corporate Workshops for Internet2 Partnerships Research and distance education partnerships in the biotechnology, telecommunications, and energy industries will be the focus of several workshops slated for later this year and at the beginning of 2002. Companies will play an integral role in exploring applied research partnerships and projects that will provide them with unprecedented capacity to transmit data and other information via Internet2. |
