be the same again. |

The Alliance for Higher
Education and The University of Texas at Dallas
co-hosted the Internet2 GigaPoP Invitational
Conference earlier this year. This inaugural
conference introduced participants to the
concept of Internet2 and the Alliance Internet2
GigaPoP, emphasized their importance to global
education and research communities, and provided
an opportunity to develop research partnerships.
Dr. Douglas E. Van Houweling,
President and CEO of the University Corporation
for Advanced Internet Development (UCAID) was on
hand for the launch. He spoke about numerous
exciting applications for both academic and
corporate participants.
